The Infusion Program


    Infusion was a program for transfer of personnel within or between commands to reduce rotational hump.  However, with the increased demand for more troops for the war in Vietnam, specialized combat units such as airborne units had to rely upon infusion of non-airborne personnel to maintain  operational combat strength..

Researching my old rosters, daily diaries and contact with former members, here are the names of Currahee who transferred up north in our battalion's infusion effort in 1968.  Eleven Currahees that were sent north and/or to other units-that I know of would lose their lives.  *Mike Munson would be WIA and later die in US from his wounds.
